Almost done with another Transfer

This week has been good. On Thursday, I was exchanges with our District Leader and we did some good work in our area. We found a few potential investigators and taught some great lessons to our current investigators. We found a new investigator this week as well. She is 13 and her mom is an active member of the church. She’s not sure about whether she wants to be baptized yet or not, but she said we could teach her and help her understand our religion a little better. We didn’t have the baptism we planned for this week, our investigator is having trouble giving up smoking and it’s harder for him when his wife is struggling too. We know he’ll get baptized and that they can give up smoking once and for all.

We are planning for three baptisms in this upcoming week! One of them is the 47 year old man I talked about in my last email, Colin, and he’s given up smoking for good and is doing a great job! Our second one is a 12 year old girl that we’ve been teaching since I got here and she’s super excited for it. The last one is a 9 year old girl who’s a little shy around new people, but she opens up after a while and it seems that I have some sort of knack for teaching children, as it seems that they open up more when I teach them. I’m super excited for these people and I know that our Father in heaven led us to them and helped us know what they needed to be taught in order to come into his fold.

We’re also currently working on a few people that should be getting baptized within the rest of the month. they just have to give up smoking completely and they’ll be able to get baptized. The reason we want them to stop smoking is because our bodies are a temple (1 Corinthians 3:16-17) and we should make sure our temples are clean before we enter into the Kingdom of God. When we are baptized, we enter into a gate that leads us to our Father in Heaven and we must walk the strait and narrow path in order to live with Him again (see included drawing).
